A touch of Fall
The new bathroom was first. It's the first time I've ever decorated the master bath. Hey, why not. I tried to keep the blue accents and add to them with orange/rust colors. I like how it turned out.
Then I added some acorns and leaves to the tray that I have in my glass coffee table. I love this little tray that I got at a craft show last year. It's fun to change seasonally. My friend bought one too and uses hers on a long table and it looks great there!
A few items were added to the mantle.

Cracked pot!
An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck.
One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.
At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.
For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water.
Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments.
But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been
made to do.
After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream.
'I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.'
The old woman smiled, 'Did you notice that there are
flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?'
'That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them.'
'For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are,
there would not be this beauty to grace the house.'
Each of us has our own unique flaw.
But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding.
You've just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.
SO, to all of my crackpot friends, have a great day and remember to smell the flowers on your side of the path!
And send this to any or all of your Crack Pot friends!!
Next time my friends say I'm a little cracked, I'll take it as a compliment!

Better than Smith and Hawkens?
I hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend. Ours was relatively low key so my husband found some time to make me a potting bench. We have talked about doing one forever but finally we got it done.
I told him what I wanted and he built it from scratch w/o a plan, as he always does. I think it turned out pretty well. I think I'll keep it natural for now but who knows.......I could change my mind again. LOL

My peonies are gone!
Clematis
Peonies
My peonies were beautiful while they lasted. The strong winds and rain beat them to death. I also have some lovely clematis blooming. Here are a couple of pics from my yard. I love it when everything is in bloom.
What's blooming in your yard?

I posted my bathroom
Our bathroom remodel is finally complete. I posted it on RMS (Rate my Space) yesterday. If you get a chance, run over and take a peek at it. Here's the link.
It has been raining here like crazy and some of our state is flooded and people have lost their homes. We've been lucky not to have much damage or flooding where we live. I can't imagine losing everything.
I watched the first episode of Design Star last night. It will be an interesting season. Any of you watch it? Actually, I'm most anxious for Sunday when Rate my Space, the TV show airs. I love getting ideas and offering opinions on decorating.
Gotta go...................Hugs!

Spring has sprung!
Hi all! I've missed you. Bailey is pretty much back to normal. Thank goodness. Thanks for your concern for him. We're still not really sure what happened but we're glad he's himself again. You know...........spoiled and cute.
I'm so glad to see all the trees blooming. I took a quick picture of our pear trees between the driveways. I wish the flowers lasted longer. I also took a picture at night. My H added lighting last year and I like how it looks. Today the winds are pretty strong and the white flowers are blowing all over the place......like snow.
