Talkin' toile!

I love toile! BJ over at Sweet Nothings was talking about how she loved country French style. I have always loved the look and especially the fabrics. Here are a few pictures from BHG and Horchow using toile in different ways. Want to learn more about it?
Toile (pronounced twahl) means "cloth" in French.










Below is how I used it in my laundry room to make the plain cabinets more interesting. I just took foam board and covered it with toile fabric. It's attached to the cabinet fronts with some removable poster mounting tape. When I get tired of the look, I can just take them down. I lined a couple of baskets with leftover toile and a check fabric.

Looking at architecture in a new way.....

I love the idea of making framed wall art with pictures of letters in architecture or every day items. I found this site and I'm thinking of ordering. Here is another site. I suppose I could make this myself if I start looking at buildings in a new way. I usually have my camera ready.

I think this would be a great wedding gift. If you know of any other sites that have these, please let me know.

HGTV Dream Home

Well, I just entered the HGTV Dream Home giveaway. Every year, I'm just so sure I'll win it since I am such a loyal HGTV watcher. This year's house is not my favorite, but none the less I wouldn't turn it down if I won. It's a little more modern than some of the previous homes and it's in the Florida Keys. They even have a doggy dream house, but Bailey could care less since he likes our bed.

I will keep entering once a day until February 19th until the drawing closes. Last year an older gentleman won and he did not seem excited at all to me. I'm sure his wife was, though. She looked much younger and they had only recently married. Obviously, we would probably have to sell it to pay the taxes on this $2.2 million package. We would gather friends and family and enjoy it for a short while.

I'm staying positive and BELIEVING that I actually have a chance to win it. LOL

I'm dreaming of a white.............

There's something about white/ivory bedding that makes me feel so pampered and calm.
I love these sheets. The detail is beautiful.

A lovely monogrammed album for beside the bed.
A lot of ruffles and layers of bedding and pillows.
Crisp white hotel bedding. I feel like I'm at a spa hotel.
I actually did have white bedding on my bed this summer but have gone to a dark chocolate coverlet for the winter. Also, the beagle hair and white are not terribly compatible. But, I'm still dreaming of a white bedroom.

Oh, I just love Christmas villages. These pictures are all from Room Service Home. You can find their site in my sidebar. I love all these pastel looking ones even though mine are traditional colors. I collect Dickens houses but I don't have them all set up yet. I'll post them later.

Home show pictures

I thought I would share some pictures from a home show that I went to recently. All the homes were beyond our means. My friend and I decided that we could not afford them if our families lived together. We can dream can't we? The pictures are of several different homes.
