Soup-tacular

BooMama started a soup-tacular for today. Just post your favorite soup recipe. Here's mine. It is super easy and very few ingredients.

Chicken Velvet Soup (originally served at the LS Ayres tea room in Indianapolis)
Yield: 5 Servings

6 tb Butter or margarine
1/2 c Milk
3 c Chicken broth
1 ds Pepper
6 tb Flour
1/2 c Light cream
1 c Fine chopped cooked chicken

In a sauce pan, melt butter or margarine. Blend in flour,
then stir in milk, cream, and chicken broth. Cook over
medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens
and comes to a boil. Reduce heat. Stir in finely cooked
chicken and dash of pepper. Return soup to boiling and
serve immediately.

Good Morning Nan,
Yum,Yum, Yummy. Your soup looks soooo good. It sounds easy as well. I may have to give it a try someday. My favorite and quick soup is homemade Chicken Noodle Soup. I don't have a picture of it. It's been a while since I've made it. I may have to make a pot before Christmas. Me and hubby had White Beans with Ham and a pan of Cornbread for our supper last night. The girls had gone out to eat with my Parents and Sister. It sure was good. Well, take care my friend and have a great Friday. May God Bless You and Yours.

Hugs,
Karen H.

Ummmmm, Yummy! A friend of mine called me yesterday, just before noon and said she had a big pot of homemade veggie soup ready and to come have lunch with her! It was fantastic! Then, my sweet daughter*in*law invited me out to eat dinner with her.(Bill is out of town). So, I had a fabulous day and didn't have to cook all day long.
I'm going to make this Velvet soup soon!! Thanks...

Sounds yummy. Think of the things you could add, maybe a bit of pre-cooked broccoli or asparagus. Heck, there were green things in the picture so my imagination fired up.

mmmmmm This soup sounds delicious! It's WAY too hot to eat soup at this time of year here though, but I will save this recipe and pull it out to warm and comfort us during our very brief winter months. Thanks sweetie!

This looks great and it looks quick.
I scrolled down and had a look at your tree. How cute. And the little dog brought back some memories of years gone by.
And if that is your home in the header picture--I am soooo jealous.
I would love some snow.

Oh, this sounds sooo good! This is my favorite kind of soup - just light enough to have a few pieces of french bread to dunk in it. I think I'll be making this one next :)
