National Pie Day!

NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Chocolate Chip Pie

Ingredients:

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch (4-cup volume) deep-dish pie shell *
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 1 cup (6 oz.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • Sweetened whipped cream or ice cream (optional)

Directions:
PREHEAT oven to 325° F.

BEAT eggs in large mixer bowl on high speed until foamy. Beat in flour, granulated sugar and brown sugar. Beat in butter. Stir in morsels and nuts. Spoon into pie shell.

BAKE for 55 to 60 minutes or until knife inserted halfway between edge and center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack. Serve warm with whipped cream, if desired.

NOTES:
* If using frozen pie shell, use deep-dish style, thawed completely. Bake on baking sheet; increase baking time slightly.

Tammy at The Pink magnolia invited me to join in. Please join us. Her blog is private but if you e mail her, she will probably invite you in! She has Mr. Linky on her post. Stop by and see her.

Nan,

That pie looks slightly familiar and it was very tasty I might add. I wanted to participate in the pie day event, but Tammy's blog is by invitation only and sorry to say, I haven't been invited!

Enjoy the pie and please note instead of whipped cream you need ice cream to melt on the warm pie. Oh my, I am salivating ( boys drool!).

Good Evening Nan,
Oh my gosh, what are you trying to do to me here? LOL. That pie sounds soooo yummy. I am going to have to try that. It sounds easy and I like fast and easy things. LOL. Maybe I will be inspired to do a little baking now since I'm not a Sweet Baker as I call it. I have been foaming at the mouth all day reading all these recipes. LOL. I bet I've gained 10 pounds just reading them. "THANK YOU" for sharing your recipe with us. "HAPPY NATIONAL PIE DAY" as well. I am going to be posting another recipe tomorrow. If you have time, stop by and check it out. Take care my friend and have a great evening. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.
